The 2008 FPUU Blueberry Fair will be held Saturday, July 26th. The planning for this is well under way, and we really need your help. The public is invited to participate. Here’s what you can do to help:
- BAKE BLUEBERRY ITEMS: The feedback from the last few Fairs is consistently “more blueberry baked goods, please!” Sign-ups to contribute blueberry pies, muffins (standard-sized, please) and coffeecakes are posted on the bulletin boards. Committee members will also be calling for donations from members and friends of the Church early in the summer. Please do your best to get baked goods to the church the day before the Fair so that we’ll have things to sell when we open for breakfast that Saturday at around 7AM!
- DONATE BOOKS: Books can be left on the stage in the Parish Hall beginning Sunday, July 13. Please do not bring textbooks or encyclopedia sets as these do not sell.
- DONATE PENNY RAFFLE ITEMS, AND JEWELRY/ACCESSORIES: Please drop off Penny Raffle items and jewelry/accessories in the church office as soon as possible.
- SELL AND BUY RAFFLE TICKETS: We have 2 great Necky Manitou 14 foot kayaks from EMS to raffle off. Tracy will have books of 10 in the office for you to pick up and sell. Based on feedback from last year, we will be selling singles for $20 AND bundling 3 tickets for $50. The boats are valued at $2100 and specification sheets (to help you with prospective buyers) are available when you pick up tickets. The drawing will be done the afternoon of the Fair at around 3PM.
- HELP OUT ON THE DAY OF THE FAIR: Last, but not least, we need anyone who is able and who will be in town that weekend to help out on the day of the Fair. If we had someone to fill all the time slots for all the jobs we would need about 60 people. More often folks end up staying well after the 3 hours that they had agreed to during sign-ups. There are a lot of different ways to help and we honestly have a lot of fun. If you’ll be out of town or busy that day, there are tasks that need to be done in the weeks preceding.
If you have questions, feel free to contact a member of the committee:
