August 3 -- “Building Intergenerational Community: A Key to Caring for a Parent with Alzheimer’s”

Jeanne Meggison shares the importance of building intergenerational family community & village community as a key to navigating a journey through Alzheimer’s with a parent. Caring for her parents in their mutual home, this journey took many turns. She shares today some of the joys, sorrows, and lessons learned in the hope it will benefit those who may face the same experience.

Lay Leader:  Jeanne Meggison

August 10 -- “Everyday Hospitality ”

Something Ian has learned from working with the Benedictines for the past several years is that caring for your friends, neighbors, and even strangers involves more than simply responding in a crisis.  Hospitality, like a good relationship, is all about the little things we do for one another on a daily basis.  During this service we will reflect on what we can do within both our church as well as the larger local community in practicing 'everyday hospitality.

Lay Leader:  Ian Durham

August 17 -- "Unveil the Bonds that Bind Each to All.

A personal review of our strengths and challenges as a church community: we are a “Jack-in-the-Box” not a “Pandora’s Box”.

Lay Leader:  Ted Trainer.

August 24 -- "Seeding the Heart: Creating a Community for Children"

Children are in touch with a life- enhancing spirituality. They live in the present moment and are alive to the energy of wonder, enthusiasm, and play. This service will explore the spiritual gifts that children can share across generations, but first we must let our own inner child come out and play.

Lay Leader:  Mary Ellen Young
